Un estudio catalán levanta en un pueblo francés un centro cultural que respeta el pasado desde lo moderno

” No son pocos los que sostienen que la mejor arquitectura es la anónima, la que, despreocupada de representar un apellido ilustre, elige arraigarse en un lugar, completarlo o transformarlo, en vez de llamar la atención sobre sí misma. El profesor Bernard Rudofsky no estaba solo cuando sostenía que las arquitecturas vernáculas, anónimas e indígenas tenían su razón de ser en una función épica alejada de cualquier lirismo. Sus teorías mantienen hoy su vigencia. Como prueba, cada vez son más los jóvenes proyectistas que, en lugar de pedir una revolución, eligen dar el paso atrás que se necesita para coger impulso y lograr dar dos hacia delante.

En Chaufailles, un pueblo de la Borgoña francesa, el estudio barcelonés Calderón, Folch, Sarsanedas ganó un concurso para levantar un centro cultural que lleva el nombre de un héroe de la resistencia local, Léonce Georges.”

The Pedestrian Bridge in Manresa featured among other urban projects of Barcelona-based practices (Alday-Jover, Bailo-Rull, BOPBAA, Coll-Leclerc, EMBT, Flores-Prats and Roig i Batlle in the Exhibition in Phoenix (USA) 
Phoenix and Barcelona emerged and evolved in different geographical and cultural contexts. Through time they have developed distinct architectural and design traditions, and both cities share the determination to shape their future through designs related to their respective regions.
