A Room for 500 People’s Plenary in the Barcelona Contemporary Culture Center main foyer.
We took as our departure point the meaning of ‘plenary’, a full meeting attended by everyone, and constructed a space that celebrates this event.
In this way, rather than putting up a wall that would divide space, we traced out a circle that, like a wrapper, envelops all the participants. A curtain made the seminar space appear and disappear, indicating the start and the end of the meeting; we constructed a space as ephemeral as the event itself.
